A camera made from a gingerbread house! “The GinergbRED Cinnamon Camera” is a hand-made candy creation (modeled from a RED EPIC Cinema Camera). There were a lot of different cameras I wanted to try to take on, personally I love Panasonic and wanted to make a GH5! But, once I took a look at all parts and pieces of the gingerbread.. and seeing how brittle it all was, I decided to go with a slightly easier design.. the RED Epic camera.
There are a lot of versions of the RED cameras! So, instead of trying to take on a specific model, I made my own version, “The GinergbRED Cinnamon Camera”.
Since it’s Christmas time, I wanted to get into the holiday spirit and make something festive and fun and… eatable! A gingerbread camera seemed like a perfectly good idea, while I was walking around Wal-Mart wondering what I’m doing with me life. I decided to go with Wilton brand Gingerbread house Kit. Most of the other treats that I purchased weren’t used in my final design, but I wanted to be sure I had options!
I’ve never made a candy camera before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But don’t worry, I ate everything I didn’t use in the build. #NoCookieLeftBehind
Because I didn’t have a lot of time to experiment with this build, I used hot glue to piece everything together. Having never worked with gingerbread before, I soon realized that this “fun, little project” was going to be a little harder than I thought. So, I sketched out the idea of what I wanted to make and set out to work! There’s another reason I filmed this build, but I’ll talk more about that in my next video! (Hint: 360° Rig)
